After you upload a photo at checkout, our design team reviews it for clarity, then converts it into a precise 3D model. The 4K laser focuses pulses at exact depths inside the K9 glass, leaving microscopic refractive points that form your image with lifelike volume. What photo works best The cube favors a single subject or a tightly framed couple — wedding portraits, family close-ups, anniversary photos, beloved pets. A clear, well-lit photo in JPG or PNG format (ideally 2,000 px on the long edge or larger) gives the sharpest engraving. Plain backgrounds engrave with more depth than busy ones. If you have a phone photo taken in good natural light, that almost always works. Wide group shots, action photos, or images where the subject is very small in the frame are better suited to the rectangle portrait crystal or the heart-shaped crystal. What's in the box Your cube ships in a premium gift-ready box — a navy presentation box with the Beyond Memories wordmark in gold, a soft microfiber pouch for cleaning, and a printed care card. The crystal is nested in custom-cut foam to survive transit. If you add the Memory Light Base at checkout, it ships in the same box with its USB-C power cable. Crystal care K9 optical crystal is scratch-resistant and water-safe, but a few habits keep it looking its best. Wipe with the included microfiber cloth — a quick buff removes fingerprints. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can warm the glass and affect a paired light base. Dust occasionally with the same microfiber. If the surface needs deeper cleaning, a drop of dish soap in warm water and a thorough dry will not damage the engraving.
