Zero shortcuts.              Each part is sourced, set, and finished by the same maker.                                   Part A         Full Grain Cowhide         4mm of full grain cowhide cut from a single hide, what the leather trade calls 10 oz weight. The natural surface is left intact. Thick enough to seat two rows of solid brass spikes through without splitting, and stiff enough that the strap holds its shape on a 60 pound dog.                                Part B         Double Row of Spikes         Two parallel rows of solid brass spikes run the full length of the strap, not one. Each spike is set by hand through the full thickness of the leather and clinched flat on the back. The double row is why the Legion reads as serious from across a parking lot.                                Part C         Rounded for Safety         Every spike tip is rounded and dulled by hand before the collar leaves the bench. Sharp enough to look the part from a few feet away. Smooth enough that you can run your hand across the strap and your dog can rub his head against your leg without anyone getting hurt.                                Part D         Brass Buckle and D Ring         Roller buckle and welded D ring, solid brass throughout. The D ring is welded shut so it cannot pop open when a medium or large dog hits the end of the leash.
