This Dromedary from Schleich can easily be mistaken for a camel but the difference is its number of humps. The dromedary has only one hump, whereas a camel has two. Their humps accumulate fat that they can live on for weeks if they can't find food. The dromedary lives in the deserts of Asia and Africa where it eats leaves, grass and other plants and where it easily adapts to its environment - the dromedary can close its nostrils to avoid masses of sand during storms.
